The latest features in Mendix Operations Manager enable customers to see all Java libraries in use by their apps and detect known vulnerabilities.

Utrecht, December 12, 2022 – Blue Storm, a provider of cloud-based solutions for managing low code platforms, has today released a new version of Mendix Operations Manager (MxOM). The new features enable Mendix customers to view all Java libraries in use by their apps, whether or not there are known security vulnerabilities, and what the open source license type of each library is.

“Extending the ease of use of low code with the flexibility and ubiquity of Java is a powerful and common approach amongst Mendix app makers. Many Marketplace modules make use of Java, and custom Java actions also often use open source Java libraries” says Andrew Whalen, founder at Blue Storm. “As a Mendix app manager it is difficult to keep up with the constant stream of open source security vulnerabilities that are detected, and which apps use which Java libraries. The latest version of MxOM solves this issue by integrating with industry standard repositories from Maven and Sonatype that are curated and updated daily, further helping app managers to prevent against zero-day attacks.”

In addition to integrations with Maven and Sonatype the following new features have been added to MxOM in this release:

  • Open source license detection. MxOM will attempt to discover the open source license in use by your Java libraries so that you can monitor and control your software licensing policies.
  • Package fingerprinting. MxOM now uses digital fingerprinting for detecting widgets and Java libraries, further enhancing the reliability of MxOM’s detection mechanisms and preventing developer mistakes from causing false-positives.

The newest version of Mendix Operations Manager is available immediately for no extra charge to existing Blue Storm customers from the Blue Storm Customer Portal.
