Knowing where personal data lives across a Mendix portfolio, and who has access to it, has historically required manual review — attribute by attribute, role by role, app by app. At scale, that approach doesn’t hold up. Teams need a way to know, continuously and automatically, whether their data is protected and whether access is under control.
AppControl 2026.6 solves this with a fully automated Data Policy workflow. AI-based detection now identifies personal data at the attribute level and suggests a classification level for each one, removing the manual effort of tagging data by hand. User roles are automatically classified as User or Admin roles, and AppControl now automatically flags roles with excessive privileges — surfacing access risks before they become compliance issues. Classification records are also available directly in Insights, giving governance teams a single place to report on and audit how data is classified across the entire portfolio.

A new POLICY_CHANGED audit event is now logged whenever a policy is modified, giving governance teams a clear, traceable record for compliance and audit purposes. App Owners can now manage access to their own apps directly, reducing the bottleneck of routing every access request through platform administrators.
