This January release introduces major enhancements to task management, PDF report generation, policy management, and support tools, further streamlining the way teams manage and optimize Mendix applications.

Key Features in the January AppControl Update

1. Advanced Task Management Enhancements

  • Assign One-Off Tasks from Insights – Users can now create and assign tasks directly from the App Insights page, making it easier to act on insights immediately.
  • Automated Task Reassignment – Failed task assignments (due to missing app managers or owners) can now be manually re-triggered for reassignment.
  • Custom Notifications for Task Assignees – Users can now send personalized notifications when assigning tasks or updating existing task assignments.
  • Improved Task Status Tracking – Users are now notified of task status updates dynamically based on new comments, completion, overdue alerts, and assignment changes.

2. PDF Report Generation

  • Generate PDF Versions of App Insights Reports – Users can now create downloadable, professional PDF reports of their App Insights data, making it easier to share insights with stakeholders.
  • New Integration with Mendix PDF Generation Service – To enable this feature, users must integrate AppControl with Mendix’s PDF Generation service by following the updated installation instructions in the documentation.

3. Policy Management Improvements

  • Policy Result Comments – App administrators can now add comments when ignoring a policy result, improving transparency and accountability.
  • Removal of Deprecated Policy Check (MF_0006) – The policy check MF_0006 has been deprecated due to excessive false positives and has been automatically removed from all policy results.
  • Various Bug Fixes & Enhancements – The update includes multiple fixes to improve the accuracy and usability of the policy dashboard.

4. Core System Upgrades & API Enhancements

  • Improved Environment Configuration UI – The configuration page has been redesigned for a clearer distinction between editable and view-only settings.
  • Automated System Upgrade Tracking – Platform administrators can now view which system upgrades have been applied and enable automatic updates.
  • Enhanced Management API Capabilities – Several API improvements, including a fix for unauthorized errors when using PATCH for the App Group API and a new PATCH/UPDATE call for account role management.

5. Support & UX Enhancements

  • New Support Portal Features – Users can now see links to backlog items associated with their feedback directly in the Support Portal and within AppControl.
  • Enhanced Feedback & Ticket Notifications – Users submitting tickets now receive real-time notifications on status changes and comments.
  • Improved Feedback Management – Support teams can now close or reject feedback items with comments, ensuring users receive clear communication on their submissions.
